Meteor Shower (October 17th 2012)

Orionid meteor shower will be seen in the skies of Saudi Arabia next Wednesday, according to Samira Al-Harbi, of the Department of Astronomy.

The phenomenon will continue for nine days beginning on October 17th and ending on October 25th, with maximum occurring on October 21st .

The Orionid meteor shower occurs at the same time each year as a result of the Earth passing through dust released by Halley’s Comet.
